Xudong Liang
Assistant Professor
Binghamton University
Xudong Liang received his bachelor's degree in theoretical and applied mechanics from Sun Yat-Sen University in China (2010), a master's degree in engineering mechanics from Tsinghua University in China (2013), and a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from University of California, San Diego (2018). His thesis was focused on the mechanical instability of soft materials and soft active materials.
Before joining the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Binghamton University, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he studied the mechanics of soft materials under high strain rate deformation, including programming elastic recoil with metamaterials and high-speed adhesion.
