Elayne Thomas

Postdoctoral Researcher, UMass Amherst

Elayne Thomas is a postdoctoral researcher in the Polymer Science and Engineering department at UMass Amherst. Her current research focuses on voltage-controlled adhesion in ion-conducting polymeric networks with the aim of utilizing external fields to modulate impulsive latch release. Elayne received her PhD from UC Santa Barbara in the Materials department investigating the structure-property relationships of ion- and electron-conducting polymers. When she is not in the lab, Elayne enjoys playing squash, hiking, and playing with her cats.
